Calanque of Port Miou

In the provençal language this means the best port or good port. This is a natural harbour which can accomodate approximately 500 boats,moored throughout the year, they are entirely protected from even the most extreme weather conditions.

 Port Miou is equally an ancient limestone quarry which was opened in 1901 and then closed in 1982 for the protection of the site. 

This is the only creek that is accesible by car and it is the starting point for the G R 98, the path that permits hikers to walk along the calanques to Marseille, this takes anything between 6-8 hours.
